These harnesses were developed for the then brand new M1945 webbing gear, unfortunately very few of these saw service during WW2 and alot were surplused out post war. Before being reissued in mass during the Korean War and sent to South Vietnam during the early years of US intervention.
Taking the lessons learned from the M1936 and M1944 Gear these harnesses are designed to carrier heavier loads, shift less during use, be generally more durable, and water resistant. A great piece for those who want to create genuine Korean War and Vietnam Advisor kits.
