The Interceptor Body Armor or IBA was created as an improved replacement of the 70s-80s Era Pasgt System. Its introduction brought the US military to the forefront of body armor and personal protection, with removable plates and addable pieces this made the system more versatile and cost effective than the order Pasgt Vest.
With build in molle webbing you dont need a separate IBE for your equipment like previous chest plates.
